About
Alex Bores is the Assemblymember for New York's 73rd District (Murray Hill, Turtle Bay, Midtown East, and the Upper East Side) and the only member of his party elected at any level of New York government with a degree in computer science. Before serving in the Assembly, Alex worked as an engineer — building software for local governments' COVID relief programs that helped 50,000 families, and assisting the DOJ and two Manhattan District Attorneys to solve violent crimes in NYC. In the Assembly, Alex has championed tech-forward legislation: passing the RAISE Act, the strongest AI safety bill in the country, encouraging state agencies to adopt cloud computing, and protecting employees' intellectual property rights over their own inventions. He holds a B.S. from Cornell and an M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.
