About

Andrew Rasiej is a futurist, a political and social entrepreneur, a technology strategist, and a community organizer who has spent three decades building institutions where technology meets public life. He founded Irving Plaza and the Digital Club Network in the early days of the digital music world, then turned to civic technology, founding MOUSE.org in 1997 to bring internet access and tech education to public schools. In 2004 he created the Personal Democracy Forum, for over a decade the leading conference on technology and politics, and later chaired the NY Tech Meetup, growing it past 60,000 members. In 2024 he founded Civic Hall @ Union Square, the largest digital skills training center in the US focused on serving under-represented populations. He serves on New York City's AI advisory board. His guiding conviction across every chapter of his career has been ensuring that technology shifts power from the few to the many.
